WFDD wins prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award

88.5 WFDD has been honored with a national Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) in the “Investigative Reporting” category for its role in the story “Sold on a Promise.”

“Sold on a Promise” is a special two-part investigative series jointly produced by BPR News, WFDD and CityView that explores the failed attempts of public-private partnerships to provide more than 500 units for homeless people in North Carolina.

The RTDNA awards are among the most prestigious in broadcast and digital news. The Murrow Awards are the embodiment of the values, principles, and standards set forth by Edward R. Murrow, a journalism pioneer who set the standards for the highest quality of broadcast journalism.
