The City of Winston-Salem has shared an update on the ongoing Polo Road improvement project.

Paving Begins this Week: Weather permitting, paving operations on Polo Road are expected to begin tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 6. This phase of the project will significantly improve the road surface and overall driving experience.

Temporary Disruptions Expected: Traffic delays and congestion are expected on Polo Road and at the Polo Road entrance to the University. To minimize disruptions, faculty, staff and students are encouraged to consider using the University Parkway or Reynolda Road entrances to campus.

Future Improvements: Once paving is complete, the city will install new traffic signals, signage, and pedestrian crossing markings. While this work will continue into the holiday season, Polo Road’s overall condition should be noticeably improved after resurfacing.

The improvements to infrastructure on Polo Road will help increase pedestrian safety for Wake Forest and surrounding communities.
