Throughout March, the Project WakeDay team is holding readiness sessions about changes coming to advising and course registration with the University’s implementation of Workday Student. Each event will include an in-depth demonstration of the student experience in Workday. Plus, during faculty events, an overview of how course-prerequisite approvals are managed in Workday will also be shared.

“Everyone on the team is excited to introduce the entire WFU community to Workday Student, a project that started more than two years ago.” Project Manager Phil May says. “It has been a great experience, working closely with so many experts across campus, and being a part of such a transformative project. We also look forward to supporting the community as faculty, students and staff really begin to dig into Workday Student and its benefits.”

Change Management Lead Matt Imboden agrees. “The team has designed several useful presentations for these March events, as well as supportive materials, including resource guides, job aids and videos. Our goal is to provide all community members what they need to be successful in this new system. These demonstrations are so important for understanding how Workday will be used across campus, and we hope everyone takes the opportunity to gather with us to learn and ask questions as we share in this experience of navigating change. Or, if schedules or commitments make attendance at a live session challenging, we encourage everyone to access the project’s on-demand materials.”

For in-person events, attendees are encouraged to bring their laptops to explore the new system and ask questions. For those who are unable to attend, videos for the sessions will be published on the project’s Kaltura channel. Please note that to watch these videos you may need to log in using your WFU credentials.

Session dates and RSVP links are published on the project’s faculty, staff, and student training webpages. You may have also received an invitation from Project WakeDay or from your department’s communications staff. If you would like more information about the events or need help adding your preferred session to your Google calendar, email the team at WakeDay@wfu.edu.

Helpful resources and videos are also now published on the project website. Visit the faculty, staff or student training webpages to find these customized materials. Overview videos, which are valuable for preparing your questions ahead of the events, are also available. Plus, a help line is going live Monday as access to Workday opens across campus. Call 336.758.5600 for support, and you will be connected to the appropriate department to answer your questions.
