In accordance with one of the requirements of Wake Forest’s upcoming SACSCOC Reaffirmation of Accreditation in 2026, the Office of the Provost has launched the process to determine our next Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) to carry out our commitment to student learning and success.

What is a QEP?

QEP stands for Quality Enhancement Plan and presents an opportunity for Wake Forest to enhance student experiences. It is a multi-year investment in a focused topic or set of initiatives that arise from “Framing Our Future” and aim to improve student learning and/or success. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) is the body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states, including Wake Forest University. They require each university, during its reaffirmation, to develop a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) as part of ongoing institutional effectiveness and quality assurance. For Wake Forest, this requirement aligns naturally with our strategic framework and provides an effective structure to implement key aspects of our academic priorities and ensure they become an ingrained part of the institution’s activity and culture.

Who can contribute QEP ideas?

Wake Forest faculty, staff and students are all encouraged to contribute ideas through one or more of the following:

  • SUMBIT A PROPOSAL: Proposals are now being accepted. Details about what needs to be included in a proposal as well as a downloadable proposal template are available online. Instructions for submitting a proposal, including a link to the brief online application form are also available. All proposals must be submitted by January 8, 2024.
  • COMPLETE A SHORT SURVEY: On the morning of October 5, Reynolda Campus faculty and staff should have received an email from the Office of the Provost containing a link to a short, three-question survey. This survey provides a way for people to suggest ideas for topics or initiatives that have the potential to enhance student learning or success but may need further thought and development. You can also access the survey here.

What if I have more questions?

If you are interested in submitting a proposal and would like to learn more about the process, you may attend one of three QEP Info Sessions which will be led by Associate Provost for Academic Affairs Anne Hardcastle.
