A guest post from the WFU Technology Accessibility Team and the Accessible Content Working Group

The WFU Technology Accessibility Team and the Accessible Content Working Group are sponsoring the 2nd annual Extreme Makeover: PDF Edition. The project aims to make websites more inclusive by eliminating inaccessible portable document format (PDF) files.

Throughout November and into early December, participating offices and faculty will have the opportunity to reduce their inaccessible PDFs by removing/deleting outdated PDFs, converting PDF documents and forms to other efficient and accessible formats, and creating accessible versions of PDFs.

You can read more about the event on the Extreme Makeover: PDF Edition website.

There are quick and easy ways to be involved, and you can dedicate as much or as little time throughout the month as you choose. Participants with the greatest improvements will be recognized and all participants will receive a digital completion badge for the WFU Extreme Makeover: PDF Edition!

To participate, please complete this form by end of day 10/31/2022 with the URL (e.g., accessibility.wfu.edu) for a WFU website you manage content on or a course that you teach. We are limiting enrollment to five faculty members and 20 staff members so we can devote our time and attention to each participant to ensure their success in completing their makeover.

Please contact Eudora Struble (strublej@wfu.edu), Director, Technology Accessibility, with questions or if you would like to learn more about getting involved.
