This summer, Reynolda Campus faculty and staff should expect significant construction activity and related closures of parking lots and roads.

Among the most substantial of these projects will be the completion of renovations and entryway additions to Bostwick and Johnson Residence Halls on the south side of campus. Construction began last fall, and the renovation will be completed by student move-in this August. The scope of work includes new windows and doors, multiple energy savings components (HVAC controls, building pressurization, dehumidification, LED lighting and water-saving fixtures), and new electrical panels and fire alarm systems along with hardscape improvements.

Two parking lot and road projects are also underway. Wake Forest Road, as approached from Reynolda Road, is being extended through Davis Field. Construction at that intersection includes paving and hardscape improvements and modifications to Lot B. On the northeast side of Hearn Plaza, Lot N is closed and under construction to create a new, efficient shuttle bus hub. There will be intersection improvements here as well, with work focused on improving both pedestrian and vehicular safety.

Other renewal activity includes classroom upgrades in multiple buildings; Carswell and Greene restroom renewals; office renovations in Kirby and Reynolda Hall; follow-up items in Luter Hall; and Kitchin Residence Hall/BSA Lounge water intrusion repairs. All are scheduled for completion in August 2022.

Longer-term construction projects and their anticipated completion dates include:

  • Wake Forest Road Extension/Davis Field, September 2022
  • Men’s & Women’s Basketball Locker Rooms, September 2022
  • Miller Center Exterior Repairs, Fall 2022
  • McCreary Football Complex, Winter 2022/23
