Earlier today, in her presidential address, Dr. Wente announced a four-day extension to the University’s 2021-2022 winter break, which will now begin Monday, Dec. 20 and continue through Monday, Jan. 3.

Staff who are typically not eligible for paid leave during the winter break will be granted four days of administrative leave between Monday, Dec. 20, and Thursday, Dec. 23, if they were scheduled to work.

Understandably, some colleagues will not be able to take advantage of the extended winter break due to their roles supporting critical University processes and priorities. Campus leaders in those areas are working to identify a time in the coming calendar year for teams to take collective time away.

After Dr. Wente’s announcement, Human Resources shared additional information about what this news means for employees. They also shared detailed information about PTO usage, carryover and donation.
