A University Senate committee at Wake Forest University has issued a call for nominations for honorary degrees.

The Senior University Appointments Committee is seeking nominations from all members of the Wake Forest community — trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents and volunteer board members. On July 28, the university distributed an e-mail about the nomination process on the Reynolda and Bowman Gray campuses from Dr. Joseph Tobin, chair of the committee. The e-mail was distributed to faculty and staff.

Honorary doctorate degree nominations for commencement 2006 and 2007 are being accepted through Sept. 15, 2005.

Wake Forest has established Web pages that present the guidelines for awarding honorary degrees and provide a nomination form. The information is available at http://wfu.edu/administration/nomination.html.

Most often, honorary doctorates are awarded during commencement exercises each May.
