William Fleeson, associate professor of psychology at Wake Forest University, has been awarded the 2002 Theoretical Innovation Prize by the Society for Personality and Social Psychology.

Fleeson and the two other winners were recognized at the annual meeting for the society held in Los Angeles recently.

He was selected for the award based on a paper, “Toward a structure- and process-integrated view of personality: Traits as density distributions of states,” published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

Fleeson began teaching at Wake Forest in 1996.
