Wake Forest University’s Office of University Advancement has won four awards in the 1997 District III awards competition of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

Wayne Thompson, a media relations officer in the Wake Forest News Bureau, won Awards of Excellence for feature writing and for the Year of Religion in American Life Web site. The Web site was created by Thompson and art director Samantha Hand of the University Editor’s Office to promote events in the university’s yearlong focus on religion. The site also features photography by university photographer Ken Bennett.

The University Editor’s Office also won Awards of Merit for the newsletters “Window on Wake Forest” and “Family Ties.” David Fyten, university editor, edits “Window on Wake Forest”; Cherin Poovey, associate university editor, edits “Family Ties.”

CASE is the nation’s largest non-profit educational association, representing institutional advancement professionals at more than 2,900 colleges and universities in North America and Europe. District III is comprised of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
