Construction Temporarily Closes Portion of Wingate Road

A section of Wingate Road in front of the Athletic Center at Wake Forest University will be closed over the weekend while a campus facilities management crew extends piping across the road.

The road will close from 7 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, until business hours on Monday, Nov. 10.

Facilities management staff will be extending water pipes for the air condition system to a new academic building. The building is now under construction between Calloway and Carswell halls.

The Athletic Center entrance near the football practice field will also be closed to vehicular traffic because of the construction. The entrance near Reynolds Gymnasium and parking lot M will remain open.

Pedestrians will be able to by pass the construction area.

To reach Gulley Drive, parking lots F and G, and other areas in south campus, drivers should circle around the campus’ west side.
