Starting Jan. 24, the Wake Forest University Police Department will hold their third WFUPD Citizen’s Police Academy.

The academy was created as an opportunity for Wake Forest faculty, staff and students to gain insight into the daily functions and responsibilities of our law enforcement personnel. The overall goal of the academy is to improve police and community interaction. Graduates will be able to share knowledge gained with others in the community, thereby helping others become more familiar with the University Police Department.

The academy will feature nine sessions focused on a wide range of topics, including introductions to the various operations within the University Police Department, such as the patrol division, the 911 Center, records and technology, and emergency management.

Sessions will be held from Jan. 24 to March 28 in Alumni Hall, where the police department is located. All will meet from noon to 1 p.m.

Registration is available through the Professional Development Center.
