Wake Forest University hosts its 51st annual Moravian Lovefeast holiday celebration in Wait Chapel on Sunday, December 6, 2015. President Nathan O. Hatch and his wife, Julie, attend the service.

Due to the popularity of Wake Forest’s annual Lovefeast, the University will host two Lovefeast services this year.  The first will be held at 4:30 p.m. and the second at 8 p.m. on Dec. 4, both in Wait Chapel. Traditionally, only one Lovefeast service has been held at Wake Forest each year.

Between the services, the University will hold a Candle Tea in the adjacent Davis Chapel, starting at 5 p.m. and ending just before the 8 p.m. Lovefeast service starts.

The Lovefeast services and the Candle Tea are free and open to the public.

The 4:30 p.m. service, which features a telling of the Christmas story instead of a sermon, will be slightly abbreviated and last about an hour. The traditional service at 8 p.m. will run approximately 90 minutes.

Video of both services will be streamed live. To watch, visit http://go.wfu.edu/lovefeastlive.

The Candle Tea will include displays by local artisans of their Christmas crafts.  Those who attend the Candle Tea will have the opportunity to learn about Moravian Christmas traditions while listening to choral and instrumental Christmas music.
