The Secrest Artists Series at Wake Forest University will conclude it 2025-26 concert season with the Pavel Hass Quartet. The concert will take place on Thursday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m., in Brendle Recital Hall on the university’s Reynolda Campus.

The Pavel Haas Quartet is revered across the globe for its richness of timbre, infectious passion and intuitive rapport. Having performed at the world’s most prestigious concert halls and won five Gramophone Awards and numerous others for recordings, the Quartet is firmly established as one of the world’s foremost chamber ensembles.

In 2022 the ensemble was included in BBC Music Magazine’s 10 greatest string quartet ensembles of all time and described as “stylistically powerful and richly sonorous, [and] known for its passionate and fearless performances.”

Their concert at Wake Forest University, Czech Avant-Garde & Dvořák, will feature:

Vítězslava Kaprálová (1915-1940) | String Quartet No. 1
Bohuslav Jan Martinů (1890-1959) | String Quartet No. 5, H. 268
Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904) | String Quartet No. 14 in A-flat major, Op. 105
