Retired faculty member Robert “Bob” Plemmons has passed away

The University recently learned that Robert “Bob” Plemmons passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026. Bob served the University for over 34 years as a professor in the Department of Computer Science. After retirement, Bob remained a vibrant part of the department, working on several research projects. 

The Wake Forest community extends its condolences to Bob’s family and friends. A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem on Saturday, June 13. An obituary can be found here.
