Beginning Monday, Oct. 20, Landscaping Services will begin conducting fall leaf removal activities and continue through winter break. Leaf blowing will occur no earlier than 6 a.m. in parking lots, along sidewalks, stairs, and ramps, and near administrative and office buildings at both on- and off-campus properties. Leaf blowing near residence halls will begin no earlier than 9 a.m. Landscape Services will make every effort to avoid interruptions, especially during increased exam time periods.

This cleanup project includes specialized equipment and the disposal of a high volume of leaf material which helps maintain a clean and safe campus environment during the autumn months. Wet leaves on sidewalks, stairs, and ramps create a significant slipping hazard. Leaves can also clog storm drains, leading to flooding on pathways, roads, and parking lots.

More information about leaf removal is available at sustainability.wfu.edu. For questions about leaf removal activities, contact Paul Sheff (sheffp@wfu.edu), Director of Landscaping and Athletic Field Maintenance.
