Update from Chief Human Resources Officer Mary Lucal
A message shared on behalf of Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Mary Lucal
In President Wente’s fall welcome message, she describes Wake Forest as a caring and personal environment. A significant way the University fosters this environment is through its commitment to a working, learning, and living community that is free from discrimination and harassment, consistent with the University’s Nondiscrimination Statement.
The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) in Human Resources is an example of how WFU supports this commitment. OIE is the primary office responsible for supporting efforts to comply with a range of critical policies, laws, and regulations, and it serves as a centralized location for resources, education, and training for preventing discrimination and harassment.
As the fall semester begins, please take a moment to review OIE offerings:
Review support resources should you or a member of your team need help.
And learn more about reporting discrimination, harassment, Title IX violations, and retaliation through the reporting form.
Additionally, some University employees are mandatory reporters, including supervisors and administrators, meaning they have an obligation to report particular types of information in accordance with University policies. If you have questions or concerns about your responsibilities under these OIE policies, contact oie@wfu.edu or refer to the OIE website.
Please reach out any time if your department is interested in receiving further education. We are here to support you and look forward to working together to uphold our shared values.
