Wake Forest is proud to be recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Employers for Women in 2025. The University ranks 45 out of 700, and it is one of only two North Carolina employers on the list.

Each year, Forbes partners with market research firm Statista to survey more than 140,000 women working at companies with at least 1,000 employees in the United States.

“This recognition is a result of Wake Forest’s actions to foster a great employee experience for all,” said Jacqueline A. Travisano, executive vice president and chief financial officer. “We reflect our pro humanitate mission as we take purposeful steps to make our workplace better for our women and entire community.”

The ranked employers were chosen for their work to improve their workplace for women. Factors considered include pay equity, leadership and career development programs, work-life balance, and the handling of incidents related to sexual misconduct and discrimination, among others.

“Being one of America’s Best Employers for Women is a proud moment for Wake Forest and a celebration of all the people who make this community extraordinary,” said Mary Lucal, vice president and chief human resources officer. “This recognition shows what’s possible when we champion our colleagues, and I’m pleased to celebrate this milestone.”

Wake Forest is consistently listed among the Best Midsize Employers and was ranked the top employer in North Carolina on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers by State in 2022.
