President Susan R. Wente has promoted Dr. Ashleigh Brock to Vice President and Chief of Staff, effective July 1.

“Dr. Brock has worked collaboratively with colleagues across the University and has been a reliable thought partner on institutional initiatives since she arrived at Wake Forest in September 2021,” said Wente. “Her thoughtful contributions and steady leadership have been instrumental in our work on important presidential initiatives and institutional strategies.”

Brock came to Wake Forest after eight years at the University of Richmond, where she earned progressive responsibility across a variety of institutional functions. Her 20 years working in higher education are complemented by a Ph.D. with an emphasis on educational policy, planning and leadership.

In her expanded role, Brock will continue to manage the day-to-day operations of the Office of the President, and lead strategic University projects, initiatives and presidential priorities. As Vice President, she will help steward institutional relationships with key local and regional partners in alignment with the University’s engagement and service mission. Additionally, Brock will oversee and align institutional sponsorships of external community partners, track university commitments and support strategy alignment across University locations.
