Jennifer Rogers has been appointed as the associate dean for Academic Advising in the College after serving as interim associate dean in the Office of Academic Advising this past academic year. She retains her critical role in graduate student support in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. In her new appointment, Rogers will be focusing on student-facing academic issues across the College and GSAS. She will be the Dean’s designate to the Committee on Academic Affairs. 

“Dr. Rogers cares deeply about our students’ well-being and understands the multiplicity of factors that shape student success in today’s environment. All of our students, both graduate and undergraduate, will benefit from her unique background,” said Jackie Krasas, dean of the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. 

Rogers has served as the associate dean of Academic and Student Affairs in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences since July 2021. She is an associate professor in the Department of Counseling. Her teaching and scholarship have focused on clinical supervision, systemically-informed case conceptualization, and relational approaches to counseling and counselor preparation. As associate dean of the Graduate School, Rogers has spearheaded efforts to increase visibility of and support for graduate students while also providing individual guidance and consultation to students and faculty. She is a past recipient of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching award and was a 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Leaders Fellow. 

“My favorite part of my work at Wake Forest has always been helping both students and colleagues navigate complex problems and circumstances. I am excited for this opportunity, and l look forward to continuing to advocate on behalf of undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty in support of our academic mission,” said Rogers.
