Campus Life is excited to launch their annual “Call for Programs” for Wake The Forest, an intentional initiative designed to support our newest students’ transition into college during their critical first six weeks. Born out of the President’s Commission for the First Year Experience, Wake The Forest brings together students, faculty and staff to foster care, connection and community.

Every Wake The Forest event aligns with our Four Pillars of The Forest: Personal Development, Life of the Mind, Community & Belonging, and Pro Humanitate. This framework ensures intentional programming that truly contributes to students’ holistic development and sense of belonging.

As the entire campus is a classroom, Campus Life invites faculty, staff, and campus partners, to submit program or initiative ideas that will engage and integrate our first-year students. Your contributions are vital in helping them find their sense of belonging and thrive at Wake Forest.

Please submit your programs or initiative ideas in the following categories:

  • Campus-Wide Events: Develop signature events, or promote existing programs open to all, with a special focus on welcoming and connecting first-year students to Wake Forest traditions and engaging them with the broader community. By being part of Wake The Forest, your event will receive additional marketing support and be tagged with a specific Pillar icon. First-year students who attend a set number of Wake The Forest events will also earn extra Link Loot points, redeemable in a special “first-year only” auction at the end of the first six weeks.
  • In-Hall Programs: Create engaging and intimate opportunities within residence halls, in collaboration with Faculty Fellows or RAs, to strengthen the residential learning and belonging experience for first-year students.
  • Resource Opportunities: Offer accessible drop-in or scheduled experiences for first-year students to connect with your office or department and learn more about campus resources that align with the Four Pillars of The Forest.

For more details on the initiative and to submit your program ideas, please visit the Wake The Forest webpage.
