A message from the Wake Forest Staff Advisory Council

The annual Staff Appreciation Picnic will be held on Friday, May 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the McCreary Tower of Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium (4th floor).

The picnic, hosted by the Staff Advisory Council (SAC), celebrates the hard work and dedication of staff across the University. Colleagues can expect great food, games, music, and giveaways. President Wente will be in attendance at noon to meet and talk with attendees.

Shuttles will be operating from 10:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: shuttles will pick staff up on the Reynolda Campus at Parking Lot P and at Wake Downtown in front of Innovation Quarter. There will also be parking available over at the McCreary Tower Lot (see map).

And, get ready to make a real difference! As part of the Staff Appreciation Picnic, the Staff Advisory Council is sponsoring two Pro Humanitate projects that will impact some very worthy needs in our community:

  • Supporting our neighbors affected by Hurricane Helene: We’re teaming up with the incredible Lutheran Disaster Response of the Carolinas to collect crucial First Aid Kit supplies. These first aid kits will go directly to those in the Carolina mountains who are still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Helene. Let’s show them our support!
  • Bringing comfort to local kids in need of beds: We’re also continuing our wonderful partnership with A Bed and A Book! We’ll be collecting children’s books and cozy twin-sized bed sheets to help create a more comfortable and inspiring space for local children.

Want to contribute? Bring items to the Staff Appreciation Picnic on May 9

  • Check out our Amazon wishlist for a list of all the needed supplies for both organizations.
  • Bring your donations to the Staff Appreciation Picnic or conveniently ship them to the University at the address on the Amazon wishlist. Every little bit helps make a big impact!

Later this summer, the SAC Pro Humanitate Committee will announce dates for assembling the First Aid Kits and building beds for local children. We’d love for you to join us!
