Wake Forest University named a ‘Best Midsize Employer’ by Forbes

WFU was recently ranked No. 55 on Forbes’ 2025 Best Midsize Employers list. The University was one of three mid-sized employers recognized from the state of North Carolina. 

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey 217,000-plus employees working at companies within the U.S. The companies were then divided into mid-sized and large; Wake Forest University joined 497 other celebrated mid-sized institutions in this year’s rankings.

Survey results analyzed a range of criteria, including salary, work environment, training programs, and opportunities to advance. Synthesizing data from the last three years, a robust assessment of each organization was processed to determine final rankings.

WFU was ranked the top employer in North Carolina in Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers by State in 2022, and it has been named a best midsize employer in consecutive years.
