On October 24, President Susan R. Wente announced a Wake Forest Community Day of Action for Hurricane Helene relief to be held on Saturday, Nov. 16. The University shared more information on how to Show Humanitate together in an Inside WFU message on October 31. Below are additional details and updates to the information shared earlier.

Donations will be collected on campus from November 7 to 14. On November 16, items will be packed and sorted in the Sutton Center.
Preferred donation drop-off location: ZSR Library circle
Other donation locations on campus include: Angelou Hall (lobby), Wait Chapel (main entrance off Hearn Plaza), North Campus Dining, Deacon Place Clubhouse
Donation locations at athletic events:
Nov. 8 – Football vs. California Golden Bears (bins at entrance gates)
Nov. 13 – Basketball vs. USC Upstate (lobby)
Nov. 16 – Volleyball vs. N.C. State (entrance)
Here are the items most needed:
Second Harvest FoodBank: Paper towels, trash bags, disinfecting cleaners (food safe), peanut butter and jelly (plastic containers only), pop-top complete meals (including soups), pop-top fruits in natural syrup, canned chicken or tuna, individual cereal bowls, family-sized shelf-stable milk
Humane Society: Cat food (wet or dry), dog food (wet or dry), kitten food (wet or dry); puppy food (wet or dry), cat litter, leashes/slip leads, pill pockets.
Diaper Bank: Newborn, sizes 4 and 5 are most needed
Volunteer
On Saturday, Nov. 16, faculty, staff and students will have the opportunity to volunteer in support of area nonprofits, including Second Harvest Food Bank, the local diaper bank, and the Forsyth County Humane Society. As a reminder, please complete this interest form to help in planning where best to place volunteers.
One-of-a-kind Wake Forest “Mountain Strong/Show Humanitate” T-shirts are available through The Graphic Cow Company for $35. A portion of the proceeds will support the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund. Shirts will be shipped when the purchase link closes on December 1. A limited number of shirts will be available for purchase at the basketball game on November 19 against Western Carolina.
