Two WFU staff members have passed away

Carolyn Shelton Disney passed away on Sunday, Oct. 13. Carolyn served the University for more than 12 years at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center. As the center’s front desk assistant, Carolyn was a welcoming face for Wake Foresters and visitors from the Winston-Salem community who came to use the facility.

Lisa Auten passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Lisa joined Wake Forest in August 2024 as a protection officer at Reynolda House Museum of American Art. An obituary can be found at Hayworth Miller. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
