The members of the Board of Trustees of Wake Forest University are pleased to announce its next class of Trustees and Officers, for the term beginning July 1, 2024.

Officers for the 2024-25 term

Chair: Jeanne Whitman Bobbitt (‘79, MBA ‘87) (Dallas, Texas) is a management consultant/principal of Jeanne P. Whitman Consulting, which works with nonprofits, businesses and schools focused on strategy, leadership transition and resource identification. She served as vice president for development and external affairs at Southern Methodist University and head of the Hockaday School in Dallas before launching her consulting practice.

Vice Chair: Curtis C. (Curt) Farmer (’84, MBA ’91) (Dallas, Texas) is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Comerica Incorporated and Comerica Bank. He joined Comerica in 2008 following a 24-year career with Wachovia Bank where he held a variety of positions with increasing responsibilities in Retail Banking, Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. His most recent role at Wachovia was executive vice president and wealth management director for the Southeast.

Vice Chair: Matthew A. (Matt) King (’82) (Brentwood, Tenn.) is managing partner/president and chief manager of FCA Venture Partners, LLC and president and chief manager of Triple Play Ventures, LLC. He serves as a director of seven FCA and Triple Play portfolio companies and is the lead director of Truxton Trust. 

New Board members include:

  • Rich Brock (‘83) (Davidson, N.C.), national practice leader – executive benefits at Gallagher
  • Darlene Boytell-Pérez (Miami, Fla.), advanced registered nurse practitioner, GastroHealth
  • Patricia L. Turner (MD ‘96) (Chicago, Ill.), executive director and CEO of American College of Surgeons
  • Laura Horton Virkler (‘95) (Durham, N.C.), chair of the board of the F.M. Kirby Foundation
  • Stella A. Ross (‘25), a philosophy major from Vestavia Hills, Ala., was elected as a student trustee. 

Returning members elected to a new term include:

  • Diana M. Adams (‘78), Bartlesville, Okla.
  • Peter M. Carlson (‘87), John’s Island, S.C.
  • Cantey M. Ergen, Littleton, Colo.
  • Deborah D. Lambert (’78), Pinehurst, N.C.
  • Gary S. Pinkus, Woodside, Calif.
  • Hannah Shue (‘13), Aspen, Colo.
  • Katherine B. Wright, North Palm Beach, Fla.

Life Trustee:

  • Herman E. Eure (Ph.D. ‘74) (Kernersville, N.C.), Wake Forest University professor emeritus of biology, who previously served as vice chair of the Board of Trustees for four years, was named a Life Trustee.
