IS maintenance on the University network

IS logoInformation Systems (IS) has shared that major maintenance on the University network will begin on Tuesday, May 21, at 6 p.m. IS teams will update the University firewalls between the campus and the internet and within the data center. This work is part of the annual renewal of portions of Wake Forest’s technology infrastructure, which typically begins every year after commencement.

What to expect:

  • Between 6 and 8 p.m., access to the internet from the campus network will be unavailable.
  • Between 7 and 9 p.m., access to on-campus resources, (including VPN, telephone services, campus-based internet access, and printing) will be unavailable.
  • Quality assurance testing will continue throughout the evening and may result in occasional interruptions until the maintenance window closes at midnight.

This outage does not affect off-campus access to email, Canvas, Workday, the University website and other cloud services.
