Ed WilsonWake Forest will host a memorial service for longtime Professor of English and Provost Emeritus Ed Wilson on Friday, May 3, in Wait Chapel at 11 a.m.

Doors to Wait Chapel will open at 10 a.m. and seating may be limited. Overflow seating will be available in Brendle Recital Hall and the event will be livestreamed.

Guests attending the service are invited to a BBQ picnic on Hearn Plaza following the service.

Professor Wilson profoundly impacted our University, our community and our state. The University is preparing for a large gathering to celebrate his life. To provide space for visitors attending the service please note:

  • Parking Lots A and P on either side of Wait Chapel will be closed from 7:30 a.m. until the service ends.
  • Davis Field will be closed to faculty and staff
  • Shuttle service from 2400 Reynolda Road to the Reynolda Campus shuttle hub will run continuously from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
