Each spring, the Wake Forest University Office of Community and Civic Engagement (OCCE) recognizes students, faculty, staff and community partners for their service and accomplishments. They are nominated for an OCCE Service Award because of their outstanding work and volunteerism, either on campus or in the Winston-Salem community.
This year, eleven award recipients were announced during a celebration held at the Green Room in Reynolda Hall.
In addition, 22 Civic Scholars were also honored during the awards ceremony, which recognizes graduating seniors who have made a significant commitment to both civic and community engagement throughout their time as Wake Forest undergraduate students. Scholars complete work across four primary areas: academic, civic engagement, leadership, and training. Additionally, each scholar completes an independently directed project.
