Immigration Services and Support Learning Series opportunities
The Center for Immigration Services & Support (ISS) is hosting a Workday Learning Series that will include four sessions for faculty and staff during the Spring 2024 semester.
Feb. 6 – International Students and Work Authorization will be held at 2 p.m. and will provide an overview of the different types of work authorizations international students qualify to use to pursue employment while they are in the U.S. This session will be held on Zoom.
March 13 –Considering the J-1 Visa For International Employees will be on at 2 p.m. and will provide an overview of understanding the variety of ways a J-1 visa can be used, knowing the eligibility requirements for the J-1 visa, and learning the restrictions that come with the J-1 visa. The J-1 visa is typically used to host temporary professors and researchers. Location TBD. Snacks will be provided.
March 19 – ISS 101 will be held at noon and will provide an overview of the immigration compliance that ISS provides for the campus, what federal agencies ISS reports to, and provide an opportunity for attendees to learn about the programming ISS provides for the international population and the campus community. Location TBD. Lunch will be provided.
April 23 – Hiring International Faculty & Staff will be held at 10 a.m. and will provide an overview of the procedures required to provide visa sponsorship for current and new international employees. This session will be held on Zoom.
