Snow on campusStudents, faculty and staff at Wake Forest will be informed of any weather-related campus closings and delays this winter by numerous means:

Text and voice messages will be sent to all student, faculty and staff cell phones registered to receive Wake Alert emergency messages. To register your cell phone, visit Wake Alert.

  • A notification will be posted on the Wake Safe app, the University’s free safety app. Learn how to turn on notifications here. The app is accessible to users outside the Wake Forest system, so family members also can download the app and receive alerts..
  • An announcement will be posted on the Wake Alert website.
  • A banner will display on top of the University home page and other University web pages that will provide details and a link to the Wake Alert site.
  • An e-mail will be sent to students, faculty and staff.
  • Posts will be made to the Inside WFU website and to @WakeAlert Twitter and Facebook (Wake Alert).
  • Four area television stations – WXII, WGHP, WFMY and Spectrum News 14 – will be notified.

A revised Inclement Weather and Other Unusual Conditions policy has been posted to the University Policy Library. The updates provide additional clarity around essential personnel designations, performance expectations, and non-exempt employee pay during adverse weather conditions and emergency events.
