WFDD’s Backpack Campaign celebrates 15 years

WFDD invites the Wake Forest University community to celebrate 15 years of the BackPack Campaign at Radar Brewing in Winston-Salem on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 28,  from 5 – 8 p.m. There will be a food truck, giveaways, and a special game of trivia with a public radio twist.

Over the years, 14,400 backpacks filled with food have been given to local children facing food insecurity.

With a gift to WFDD, Kaplan will donate a backpack to Second Harvest Food Bank’s BackPack Program. The goal this year is to fill 1,300 backpacks by the end of the campaign.
