Dear colleagues,

We write today to announce the beginning of our annual campaign to support our long-time partner, the United Way of Forsyth County, and our mutual commitment to the well-being of our community. As a leading institution in Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, Wake Forest has long served as an anchor institution for the United Way’s annual campaign. Indeed, this campaign provides each of us with an important opportunity to demonstrate our renewed calling to live out our motto — Pro Humanitate — by living it out here at home.

Last year, UWFC served more than 38,000 people in our community by supporting 38 local partner agencies and helping to fund more than 60 programs serving those in need. Our neighbors continue to face significant challenges as we watch chronic homelessness rise and children’s reading proficiency decline. These obstacles are not easy to overcome, but United Way of Forsyth County is dedicated to bringing together the community and its resources. It is together that we can take on these problems. Last year alone, WFU raised more than $210,000 during United Way’s campaign. Thank you for your significant contributions!

As we look to the future, the United Way provides leadership by setting goals to address our community’s ongoing challenges. These goals will only be reached if we come together as a community to support this critical work. Wake Foresters give back to our community in many ways, and we ask that you consider including a donation to the United Way of Forsyth County. Every contribution makes a difference.

Make your pledge today!

Our campaign runs from October 25 through November 22. For more inspiration, see the great work that United Way of Forsyth County is doing by viewing the 2023 Campaign Video.
