Wake Forest’s Center for Immigration Services & Support (ISS) is hosting two sessions for faculty and staff to learn more about specific immigration processes and procedures – an  International Students and Work Authorization session (Oct. 4) that provides an overview of different types of work authorizations international students qualify to pursue while they are in the U.S.  and a Hiring International Faculty & Staff session (Nov. 3) for those who want to learn more about the procedures required to provide visa sponsorship for current and new international employees.

After completing the International Students and Work Authorization participants will be able to:

  • Understand the services ISS offers
  • Know the student’s responsibilities to obtain work authorization
  • Understand your role in the hiring process
  • Learn the different types of work authorizations: On campus, CPT, and OPT

After completing the Hiring International Faculty & Staff participants will be able to:

  • Understand the services ISS offers departments through the hiring process
  • Know the responsibilities hosting departments have in hiring a foreign national
  • Learn the different visa options available to sponsor an international employee (This session will predominantly focus on the H-1B visa)
  • Discuss the challenges and expectations in working with federal agencies
  • Review the latest regulatory changes impacting WFU visa-sponsored employees and ISS processes
