A message from Provost Michele Gillespie

In coordination with the Commencement Speaker Committee, I’m delighted to announce that the nominating process for the 2024 Commencement Speaker is now open to all Wake Forest faculty and staff. The nomination process will remain open until August 15.

Wake Forest has increased the intentionality of the speaker selection process to emphasize alignment with the University’s motto, Pro Humanitate. Speaker nominations should reflect the guiding philosophies outlined in this Inside WFU blog post, How Wake Forest selects Commencement Speakers.

Close ties to the Wake Forest community are not required for selection but certainly contribute to a speaker’s ability to understand and comment upon the Wake Forest experience. Nominations of Wake Forest alumni are encouraged.

To nominate a speaker, please complete this form. The Committee will review all nominations and make recommendations to President Wente.

Thank you for your participation in this process and for helping make 2024 Commencement truly special for our graduates.
