Ivers and Farrell receive American Counseling Association awards

Counseling professor and department chair Nathaniel Ivers has received the 2023 Dr. Judy Lewis Counselors for Social Justice Award. The award recognizes people who have engaged in social justice and advocacy aimed at making the lives of others and/or communities better through empowerment, community organizing and/or systems change through active engagement.

Counseling professor Isabel Farrell received the Dr. Carl D. Perkins Government Relations Award, which honors a member who has made a significant contribution to the counseling profession, or individuals served by the profession, by influencing public policy at the state or national level.

The awards were presented to Ivers and Farrell at the American Counseling Association’s annual spring conference in Toronto.
