Phased closure of the Faculty & Staff Clinic

As we continue to adapt our response to COVID-19, the Faculty and Staff COVID Clinic will begin a phased closure due to low demand and utilization of services. After Friday, March 31, the physical clinic will no longer be available for in-person appointments and will transition to offering telehealth services by phone only. Faculty and staff may continue to call the clinic at 743.223.4217 through Friday, April 14

Faculty and staff should continue to follow CDC guidance for COVID-19 isolation and exposure protocols. After April 14, faculty and staff with questions about COVID-19 symptoms and CDC protocols should contact their primary care physicians. Those enrolled in the University’s medical plan may also schedule an appointment with telehealth services through Teladoc (855.835.2362) or the CVS Minute Clinic

This planned transition coincides with the Department of Health and Human Services announcement that the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) will expire on May 11, 2023. Due to the end of the PHE declaration, group health plans are no longer required to offer COVID-19 related services. Wake Forest’s medical plan will continue to offer 100% coverage for COVID-19 vaccinations.

Beginning January 1, 2024 COVID diagnostic tests will be covered like similar lab tests, depending on the location, and the medical plan will no longer cover at-home test kits. Faculty and staff who are enrolled in the medical plan can contact Human Resources at askHR@wfu.edu with any questions regarding changes to the medical plan.

The Campus Health Committee continues to monitor the best health approaches and plans to communicate any changes to our existing COVID-19 policies and procedures by the end of the spring semester.
