WFU to host first NC Japanese Language Student Conference

Wake Forest University and the Department of East Asian Languages and Studies will host the first N.C. Japanese Language Student Conference on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Benson University Center.

This is the first student conference in Japanese in the state.

The conference will host more than 30 student presenters from Appalachian State University, UNC-Charlotte, Western Carolina and Wake Forest University.

Seventeen Wake Forest students in the Japanese Program will be sharing multimedia projects, speeches, and performances in Japanese.

Guest speakers include Vice-Consul from the Consulate General of Japan in Atlanta and the president of the Japan-America Society of North Carolina.

Sponsors include the Japan Foundation Los Angeles and Wake Forest University’s Office of the Provost.
