Construction update: Road through Davis Field to open Sept. 6

The new Wake Forest Road extension through Davis Field will be opened for use beginning Tuesday, Sept. 6. Please be aware of new traffic patterns in the area upon return from the Labor Day holiday. There are two new 4-way stops with pedestrian crosswalks, one at the Scales/Lower Davis Field intersection and one at the Lot B intersection. Large trucks such as tractor trailers and semis are not allowed on the new road.

Construction will continue for an additional two weeks on the stormwater system located at Lower Davis Field. This work will cause one of the sidewalks along the new road to be partially blocked by construction fencing and that sidewalk will remain closed. Pedestrians are encouraged to safely cross the road at the new crosswalks and stay on the open sidewalks. The stormwater work is expected to complete by Friday, Sept 16.
