Professor Emeritus of Anthropology David Evans passes away

David EvantsWe are sad to announce that Professor Emeritus of Anthropology David Evans died on July 30. He was 89 years old.

Professor Evans joined Wake Forest faculty in 1966 and taught anthropology for 35 years. In 1967, he founded Wake Forest University’s Overseas Research Center and Ethnographic Field School. For many years he led field research trips to Venezuela, Scotland, England, Belize, Costa Rica, Saba Island, Netherland Antilles, Roatan Island, Honduras, and many other locations around the world.

In 1971, he was awarded the first Reid-Doyle Award for Excellence in Teaching.
