HELPS now accepting applications for ‘Healthy Weight for You’ program

Do you want to lose weight, but aren’t sure where to start? We can help! Our six-month weight management program is offered to full-time, permanent Wake Forest University employees free of charge. This program will go beyond healthy lifestyle modification, with a laser focus on weight loss. The program will offer a combination of weight-loss strategies and techniques to help individuals reach their goals. We want to help you achieve a healthy weight for you!

Applications are now being accepted for participation in our next group. Weekly group sessions will be held virtually via Zoom on Thursdays from 11 a.m. to noon and will begin in August.

A few highlights of the healthy weight for you program include:

➡️ Six months of weekly group sessions
➡️ Education and tools specifically for weight loss and managing a healthy weight for you
➡️ Initial and six-month physical function assessments
➡️ Initial and six-month DXA total body composition scans
➡️ Formal assessment and follow-up with a dietitian
➡️ Weekly food diary evaluations and feedback
➡️ Physical activity tracking and an exercise prescription
➡️ Specific quality nutrient guidelines
➡️ Behavior modification and mindfulness

This program is designed for participants who meet the following criteria:
➡️ Individuals with weight loss needs (BMI >27)
➡️ Able to attend weekly sessions held for an hour
➡️ Able to commit to personal dietary and exercise changes
➡️ Full-time, permanent Wake Forest University employee
