Faculty proposals funded

Grey Ballard, associate professor of Computer Science, whose proposal entitled “Communication-Avoiding Tensor Decomposition Algorithms” has been funded by the National Science Foundation.

Kristen Beavers, associate professor of Health and Exercise Science, whose proposal entitled “Variable adaptive responses to weight loss in older adults (VARIA)” has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and by WFU Health Sciences.

Eranda Jayawickreme, professor of psychology, whose proposal entitled “Measuring and Developing the Character Strengths of Wisdom in Low-security contexts: Testing new approaches in the Philippines and Sri Lanka” has been funded by John Templeton Foundation and the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Wayne Pratt, professor of psychology, whose proposal entitled “Serotonin 5-HT3 stimulation of the nucleus accumbens and its effects on an effort-based choice task for sugar on a progressive ratio schedule of reinforcement” has been funded by Psi Chi.

David Yamane, professor of sociology, whose proposal “The Body Armor of Christ: Constructing Safety and Security in Communities of Faith” has been funded by the Louisville Institute.

Saami Yazdani, associate professor of engineering, whose proposal “Local delivery of smooth muscle cell-targeted aptamer to inhibit neointimal growth and accelerate vascular healing” has been funded by the National Institutes of Health.
