On Thursday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall the Secrest Artists Series at Wake Forest University will present jazz vocalist, Stacey Kent – the final concert of the 2021-22 concert season. 

Wake Forest University and Medical School faculty, staff and retirees receive free admission for themselves and one guest to each Secrest Artists Series performance. Admission is free for WFU students with ID. 

Awarded the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Minister of Culture in 2009, American jazz singer Stacey Kent is one of the world’s premiere exponents of the Great American Songbook. Backed by a superb band headed by saxophonist Jim Tomlinson, they will perform songs from her most recent release, Songs From Other Places as well as other selections from her wide repertoire. Ms. Kent’s repertoire covers the Great American Songbook, Brazilian classics by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Marcos Valle and others, classic pop by the Beatles, Paul Simon, Carole King and Stevie Nicks, as well as intriguing originals composed for her by Jim Tomlinson with lyricists Cliff Goldmacher and most notably, the Nobel Prize-winning author, Kazuo Ishiguro.
