Wake Forest building access updates

Wake Forest has approved a new Building Access Policy that includes the addition of Deacon OneCard and badge access readers at the entrances of a number of University buildings that formerly did not require keycard access.

The new policy supports the safety and security of our campus community and also facilitates consistent and quick responses in the event of an emergency. These outcomes enhance the University’s ability to uphold its commitment to community engagement, outreach, service, creative work, teaching, learning and research.

Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to carry their Deacon OneCard for easy access to buildings on Reynolda Campus as well as at Wake Downtown and Brookstown.

For faculty and staff inviting non-Wake Forest guests to campus, it may be necessary to greet visitors at the exterior door of the building if a keycard is required for entry.

Arrangements can be made for public access to buildings for performances, events, gatherings, research activities and approved vendors as needed with support from the Deacon OneCard Office.

The Deacon OneCard Office is located in Maya Angelou Hall, Suite 001, and can be reached by calling 336.758.1949 or emailing deacononecard@wfu.edu.
