Amid all things scary and Halloween-y here is a bright spot related to career development and employment. During the pandemic, organizations want access to top talent early. Andy Chan, vice president of innovation and career development says, “For our juniors and sophomores, there are surprisingly more internships available now than there were last year when the economy was hot.”

Our career development and employer relations teams are innovating and adapting to the pandemic by:

  • Taking full advantage of virtual recruiting opportunities,
  • Launching webinars for employers where campus partners (LGBTQ, Women’s Center, Learning Assistance and Disability Services and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion) can share insights into how to recruit and retain diverse talent, and
  • Rethinking Wake Forest’s signature “Career Treks” to provide virtual networking opportunities for students seeking internships and jobs.
