Bystander intervention and reporting non-compliance
Dear Colleagues,
Earlier this week UNC-Chapel Hill and Notre Dame announced transitions to all-remote learning for undergraduate students after seeing a significant spike in confirmed on-campus COVID-19 cases. These examples underscore the fact that maintaining the health of our campus takes effort from all of us choosing to act for the good of the whole community.
As we welcome students and colleagues back to campus, please review this important information about using bystander intervention and reporting non-compliance of COVID-19 policies.
Bystander Intervention
Bystander intervention is the charge for our campus community to respectfully bring attention to the need for our colleagues and students to follow university public health guidelines for COVID-19. We understand that confronting non-compliance can be challenging and encourage you to revisit the COVID-19 Education Module for helpful guidance.
Reporting Non-Compliance
Members of our community can report someone who is not in compliance with a COVID-19 policy by submitting a report or placing a phone call. Reporting options include:

Using the Compliance Hotline
These communication methods should not be used for reporting emergencies requiring immediate action. If you have an immediate on-campus or near-campus concern, including a large gathering, a party, or a situation where there may be an active exposure of COVID-19, call the Wake Forest University Police Department at (336) 758-5591.
For concerns about behaviors that take place off campus, contact the Winston-Salem Police by calling the non-emergency number at (336) 773-7700. Winston-Salem Police works in close partnership with Wake Forest University Police.
