Wake Alert test delayed until November 15

This announcement was e-mailed to students, faculty and staff on Oct. 30 by Wake Forest Communications and External Relations:

Wake Forest is delaying a test of its Wake Alert emergency notification system that was planned for Oct. 31, originally.  Instead, the test will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 15.

The delay in the test is due to the risk for severe weather on the afternoon of Oct. 31 and continuing into the evening.  University officials do not want to conduct a test on a day in which there is the potential need to make actual emergency announcements.

Meteorologists today are forecasting the possibility of severe storms moving into the Triad in the afternoon on Oct. 31.  Substantial amounts of rain and high winds are possible.

The University will send reminders by e-mail to students, faculty and staff leading up the Nov. 15 test of the Wake Alert system.
