Hit the Bricks 2018

Hundreds of Wake Forest students, faculty and staff will run and walk laps around Hearn Plaza on Sept. 26 for “Hit the Bricks,” an annual event.  It will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The event is, essentially, a relay race to raise money for cancer research in honor of the late Brian Piccolo, who rose to prominence as a Wake Forest and Chicago Bears football player before dying of cancer as a young man. A final remembrance lap for cancer victims and survivors will be followed by a ceremony in front of Wait Chapel.

Individuals and teams participate in the lengthy event, which includes fun activities, live music and special guest speakers.

All proceeds benefit the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund, which provides funding to the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
