Tornado watch issued for Forsyth County until 9 p.m. today

This announcement was e-mailed to students, faculty and staff on Oct. 11 through the Wake Alert system:

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for our area (Forsyth County) until 9 p.m. today. A tornado watch means tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area.

Please monitor weather reports for the latest information. Resources include:

(A flash flood warning is also in effect in this area until mid-afternoon.  Meanwhile, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to continue throughout the day.)
