Tornado Watch issued for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County today, April 15

This announcement was emailed to students, faculty and staff on Sunday, April 15, by Wake Forest Communications and External Relations:

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for our area today, April 15. This includes Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.  The watch is in effect until 11 p.m. A tornado watch means tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area.

Please monitor weather reports for the latest information.

Information about today’s weather, including current forecasts, is widely available on local TV stations, such as WXII, WGHP, WFMY and Spectrum’s News 14.  Information is also easily accessed from other news organizations, such as The Weather Channel.

In the event of a weather emergency, Wake Forest would use the Wake Alert emergency notification system to communicate with students, faculty and staff.  Additional information is available here.
